Demonstration of Indianness #31 is a short experimental film based on old home movies that the artist's grandfather shot in the 50's. The film is as much a portrait of a struggle and a declaration of identity, as it is a questioning into the history of documentation and anthropology.
Haidawood is a project based in Masset, on Haida Gwaii (aka,the Queen Charlotte Islands). The movies are shot using stop-motion animation, and feature puppets made from bionicles, with faces made out of carved avocado pits. The movies are made with help from the entire community.
