A short film about how much we revere what elders can share. I call it "The Map to Gambell." It's a part of a longer project called "Sound and the Hunter, Sivuqaq" which explores what Siberian Yupik people are experiencing in the Bering Sea - challenges and adaptation to the challenges, and changes from sound increases due to industry and ship noise.
The ocean, with its colours, sounds and energies infuse with spirit and wisdom the dialogue between two young girls and their grandfathers. We, Mapuche Lafkenche, observe the ocean's Az so that we may become one with it, maintaining the balance of our relationship with this space that we call Lafkenmapu.
Igloolik has received a tag to harvest a Bowhead whale. Kingulliit Productions would like to film the hunt and create a documentary film around this event. The proposed Bowhead Whale hunt film and involvement will contribute to communities preserving the hunt, and to understanding more about the rich history and culture of hunting.… En savoir plus
Beginning in 2010 in Arviat Nunavut, the Nanisiniq Arviat History Project is a multi-media history project which brings together Inuit youth and Elders to re-discover Inuit history.
