The Nattilik Heritage Center in Gjoa Haven, Nunavut was opened to the public on October 17, 2013. Uqhuqtuurmiut celebrated the opening together with visiting guests from out of town. The center houses historical artifacts and showcases art from the community.

The Kitikmeot Inuit Association organized a men's gathering in Kugaaruk, Nunavut. During the November 2013 event, participants learned and went through healing sessions. Another part of the event was a fishing trip outside of Kugaaruk, as the area is known for its delicious arctic char.
