Kippinguijautiit (Things to Pass Time By): This program entertains the audience with funny and interesting stories on traditional and contemporary Inuit ways of life. Kippinguijautiit features northern musical talent and coverage of games and special events. Kippinguijautiit was the most popular Inuktitut language program from the audience survey conducted in 1992. Kippinguijautiit is a half-hour program for the 16 to 60 year old age group. Kippinguijautiit was produced and packaged in Iqaluit with segments provided by our other production centres. 1985 – 2009 approx.

Segment 1: In 1989, the meat plant in Iqaluit sells meat and fish from local hunters. Jim Curry, who is the manager, talks about how they prepare the fish for sale. He shows how the fish are smoked.

Segment 2: Simonie Alainga talks about his trip to hunt walrus. He tells how they prepared the walrus meat. The hunters also tried to catch a baby walrus.

Segment 3: Ugjualuk from Cape Dorset tells a funny story about when he and his friends were on a boat.
