Program name: Kippinguijautiit (Things to Pass Time By): This show entertains the audience with funny and interesting stories on traditional and contemporary Inuit way of life. Kippingujautiit features northern musical talent and coverage of games and special events. Kippinguijautiit was the most popular Inuktitut language program from the audience survey conducted in 1992. Kippinguijautiit is a half-hour program for the 16 to 60 year old age group. Kippingujautiit was produced and packaged in Iqaluit with segments provided by our other production centres. 1985 – 2009 approx.

Segment 1: Cutting of the ribbon for the opening of the sod house (Qammaq) near Joamie School in Iqaluit. Certificates of appreciation are presented to the participants who built the sod house.

Segment 2: Therese Ukaliannuk of Igloolik, describes their ordeal when their boat hit some ice.


Segment 3: Rebecca Anaviapik- Soucie describes different programs and schedules for the Inuit Broadcasting Corporation.

Segment 4: Therese Ukaliannuk of Igloolik, recalls a comical incident where she accidently tied her parka waist cord instead of rope to secure the door and remembers another comical incident where the dogs dragged the tent they were sleeping in.

The Inuit Broadcasting Corporation, established in Canada's territory of Nunavut, has been producing Inuit language video, by, for and about Inuit since 1981.
