Kippinguijautiit (Things to Pass Time By):
This show entertains the audience with funny and interesting stories on traditional and contemporary Inuit way of life. Kippingujautiit features northern musical talent and coverage of games and special events. Kippinguijautiit was the most popular Inuktitut language program from the audience survey conducted in 1992. Kippinguijautiit is a half-hour program for the 16 to 60 year old age group. Kippingujautiit was produced and packaged in Iqaluit with segments provided by our other production centres. 1985 – 2009 approx.

Segment 1: Joey Hildago talks about his filmmaking production business. He talks about his education, where he is from and how he started his business. Most of the film is about the ‘sea otter,’ which is a camera for under the water. There is also a demonstration of how the camera works.

Segment 2: This is an interview with an elder who was acting in a movie. The elder is from Iqaluit. The elder talks about how the movie was made and what she had to do. She also shows black and white photos during the interview.

Segment 3: Comedy bloopers – There is a lot of laughter and storytelling of comical experiences. The two people who are sharing the funny stories are Ujualuk Etidluie (Cape Dorset) and Philipoosie Kooneeliusie (Pangnirtung).
Segment 4: Zeepeeti Nungaq (Zebedee Nungak) and his wife are shown playing accordion at Qaggiq in 1995.
