General Submission Procedure & Rules
In order to qualify for NAIIA nomination, nominee or member of group:
- Must be an enrolled member(s) of an American Indian tribe and/or First Nations People of Canada or be able to provide proof of descendency. NAIIA board may request proof of tribal enrollment or descendency if category entry becomes an official NAIIA nomination.
If submitting for multiple categories please specify each entry clearly and please note that each entry requires the corresponding submittal fee.
- There is no limit to how many categories or submissions you may enter.
- Each entry requires a submittal fee, which must be paid in order to be considered.
- Once entry submission is received there will be no refunds.
- Submittal fee(s) may be paid either by cashier’s check, personal check or money order (do not send cash).

- All Record labels, managers, representatives submitting on behalf of an artist(s) shall include all requested information.

Film Submissions
Who can submit?
- Anyone associated with the production of a film (i.e. cast, crew, producers, distributors, etc.)
What do I submit for the Film/TV category?
- In order to submit please send your feature film, short film, documentary and/or TV appearance
- At this time, NAIIA requires that all film submissions please send a DVD to be considered for review and only a DVD.
- Submissions must have been produced and/or released no later than January 2006 to be eligible for the NAIIA.
- Please specify which category/categories you are submitting for.
- Each entry and category requires a $50.00 submittal fee in order to be considered for nomination.
- Please include trailer(s) and/or promo reels along with your film submission if available.
- Submitter acknowledges that any and all materials submitted shall not be returned and will be used for official NAIIA business.

Music Submissions
Who can submit?
- Anyone associated with the production of the song, album or music video.
- At this time, NAIIA requires that all music submissions please send a CD to be considered for review and only a CD.
- Music submissions must have been produced and/or released no later than January 2006 to be eligible for the NAIIA.
- Please specify which category/categories you are submitting for.
- Each entry and category requires a $50.00 submittal fee in order to be considered for nomination.
- Submitter acknowledges that any and all materials submitted shall not be returned and will be used for official NAIIA business.

Model Submissions
Who can submit?
- Anyone associated with the production of the calendar.
- Please send NAIIA the original, full length, complete calendar to be considered.
- Calendar submissions must have been released for the 2009 calendar year to be eligible for the NAIIA.
- Each calendar entry requires a $50.00 submittal fee in order to be considered for nomination.
- Please specify which category you are submitting for.
- Submitted acknowledges that any and all materials submitted shall not be returned and will be used for official NAIIA business.

Publication/Magazine Submissions
Who can submit?
- Anyone associated with the production of magazine (i.e. editor, producer, writer, owner, etc.)
What do I submit for the Magazine category?
- In order to submit please send your entire magazine volumes for the previous annual year you are submitting for.
- Submissions must have been released from January 2008 thru December 2008 to be eligible for the NAIIA.
- Please specify which category/categories you are submitting for.
- Each entry and category requires a $50.00 submittal fee in order to be considered for nomination.
- Submitter acknowledges that any and all materials submitted shall not be returned and will be used for official NAIIA business.

Comedy Submissions
Who can submit?
Comedian, Manager or representative may submit for consideration.
- Please send NAIIA a DVD and/or CD of your comedic performance. At this time, NAIIA requires that all Comedy Submissions send a DVD and/or CD for review and consideration and only a CD and/or DVD.
- “Comedic Performance” is constituted by performing an official comedy routine and/or stand-up in front of an audience.
- Each comedic performer submission requires a $50.00 submittal fee in order to be considered for nomination.
- Please specify which category you are submitting for.
- Submitter acknowledges that any and all materials submitted shall not be returned and will be used for official NAIIA business.

Honor Submissions
Who is eligible for the Lifetime Achievement Award?
This category is open to all who have dedicated their lives and worked to better their Indigenous, Native American, Aboriginal, American Indian, First Nations community.
Who can submit?
Because this is a special category, created to honor a person’s lifelong work and dedication, the ability to submit is open to anyone who feels the nominee is eligible and meets the category description.
- Please send a written statement detailing who you are submitting for this category and why.
- Please ALSO send: bio, resume, video, produced material, picture(s) etc. This material helps provide evidence of why you are nominating this person. This material should show what the nominee has done in their community and their lifetime.
- Each Honor Submission requires a $25.00 submittal fee in order to be considered for nomination.
- Please specify which category you are submitting for.
- Submitter acknowledges that any and all materials submitted shall not be returned and will be used for official NAIIA business.

What to include:
- Bio of group, artist, comedian, calendar, individual
- Submission- DVD, CD, Calendar, Honor Submission material(s)
- NAIIA Registration Form
- Submission(s) received and postmarked by February 27, 2009
- Film/Television- Each category entry requires a $50.00 submittal fee
- Music- Each category entry requires a $50.00 submittal fee
- Model- Each category entry requires a $50.00 submittal fee
- Comedy- Each category entry requires a $50.00 submittal fee
- Honor- Each category entry requires a $25.00 submittal fee
Example: I’m submitting a film for: (1) Best Director, (2) Best Actress and (3) Best Supporting Actor. Each category requires a $50.00 submittal fee. 3 Categories x $50.00= $150.00
Example: I’m submitting my group for: (1) Best Rap Song, (2) Best Music Video, (3) Best Rap Album and I’m also submitting myself for (4) Best Rap Song.
Each category requires a $50.00 submittal fee. 4 Categories x $50.00=$200.00
