Interview with Gabriel Koperqualuk

Jenna Amarualik interviews Gabriel Koperqualuk and discusses Digital Art LIVE on November 11th, 2020.

Gabriel Koperqualuk is an Urban Inuk raised in Montreal. His mother is from Puvirnituq. He grew up speaking both English and French and is now slowly learning Inuktitut. He studied in Graphic Design and Commercial Photography, and recently did a year at Concordia in the Intermedia program.

Back in 2015 he decided to pursue an artistic career in digital arts and started selling prints and other things based on his artwork. Although most of his work is abstract, he finds inspiration in the Inuit Art realm and has always considered his art as a way to reconnect with his Northern roots and to further solidify his Urban Inuk identity.
