Recovered from original archival footage thanks to IBC, Amitturmiut was produced in Igloolik, Nunavut in the 1980s and 90s focused on traditional subjects by Paul Apak Angilik, Zacharias Kunuk, Simon Quassa, Jake Kadluk, Pauloosie Qulittalik, Julie Ivalu, Natar Ungalaaq, and Pacome Qulaut. Host: Simon Quasa. Scenes of hunting and butchering walrus by boat. Pauloosie Qulittalik discusses when is the best time to hunt walrus, what supplies need to bring out hunting, how to skin, butcher and cache walrus, how to navigate using the sun and ocean currents, how to predict weather by cloud formation.
