How to get involved with the IFN Tour

If you would like your community to participate in the Indigenous Film Network (IFN) initiative, first you need to know some details:

• IFN flies low-cost portable digital cinemas to participating communities for high-definition theatrical presentations. For this beginning of the year 2007, we are sending up a crew to show The Journals of Knud Rasmussen film as well as other documentaries.
• The crew is normally integrated by one technician accompanied by one filmmaker or actor who introduces the films and may have meetings with young and emerging talents.
• As part of the second phase of IFN, there is a potential to install a permanent theatrical projection system in some communities.

If you want your community to be part of the IFN Tour we need a Local Manager that would be helping us with the coordination of the screening in your community. The Local Manager main activities would basically be the following:

• Contact the Hamlet and let them know of our coming to the community and ask for their collaboration for our Tour in the community
• Contact the Coop Manager and/or Board and ask for their collaboration for our Tour in the community
• Find a Screening Place (could be the gymnasium, school, community or recreation center, etc.)
• If your community has an Activity Schedule, send it to us so that we do not conflict with any previous engagements
• Promote the screening
• Find a Local Filmmaker to film the tour to your community (is a bonus)
• Help us organizing the crew’s accommodation and transportation in the community
• Stay in touch with the coordinator of the tour
