LOUISA KOINANGAK NANOOKLOOK (English)

Louisa is the eldest of five deaf siblings who were born into the
Ugjuk family in Rankin Inlet. As a young child she developed polio and was sent south to the hospital in Winnipeg for treatment.
She completed her schooling in Vancouver at the Jericho Hills
School for the Deaf. Louisa married the late Vincent Nanooklook,
and is the proud mother of five children. She had a successful
career as a data entry clerk with the Government of Nunavut, and is now retired, enjoying time with her extended family and friends.
