Dr Isabelle Gingras is one of the doctor from Sept-Iles, Quebec, who vow to quit her job at the hospital of the region if uranium exploration and mining were progressing. On November 18th the organization Nunavummiut Makitagunarningit introduced anti-uranium activists to an Iqaluit audience. Here Sandra Inutiq, Chairperson of the organization opens up the presentation. In Inuktitut.

On est des Inuit... les survivants de la toundra. On est devenu des sédentaires... puis, ça ne fait pas longtemps. Nos grand-parents vivaient justement dans des iglous. Nous sommes nés au bon moment... on a eu nos propres diplôma dans nos graduations devant tous les Inuit de nos villages (ceux qui sont venus à l'école) et maintenant, on est ici.
