Segment 1: This is a 1992 update on the process and timelines for the new Government of Nunavut. It’s an information package on what to expect, including the funding. There is also information about the boundary for the new Territory. John Amagoalik from the Inuit Committee on Constitutional Issues talks about the significance of Nunavut.
Segment 2: Marion Pattunguyak, an elder woman from Baker Lake, recovers cached caribou meat. Using an ulu, she prepares it for drying on the rocks demonstrating how it is done. She then gathers the dry meat (nipku) packing it in a caribou skin for transport. She also gathers and carries brush from the tundra.
