Segment 1: Kiviuq’s Journey – Kiviuq is a legendary figure across the North. His stories are told in many ways, in many dialects. The stories of Kiviuq hold Inuit tradition together. From Alaska to Greenland, elders tell stories about Kiviuq and his journey home from exile.
Segment 2: This is a documentary about Inuit and the Catholic Church in Chesterfield Inlet, Nunavut. Maurice Quukiaq talks about the life and challenges they had when he was a child. His sister, Alu also talks about some of the challenges. They both talk about the changes that have had an effect on the lives of Inuit.
The Inuit Broadcasting Corporation, established in Canada's territory of Nunavut, has been producing Inuit language video, by, for and about Inuit since 1981. This video is from their collection and has been made available on the Internet for your enjoyment through funding provided by the Government of Canada and the Government of Nunavut.
