Umik character outline

My name is Umik and I am a Prophet and leader among the Iglulik people. My son Nuqallaq and I converted to Christianity and now my work is to bring others to Jesus. This is a difficult task at times as many elders, such as Aua, do not believe in the ways of Jesus. As they will learn, all Christians take care of each other. When we make siqqitiq, the communiun meal, and eat from the hearts and other organs of animals no shaman ever can eat, we become Christian and our sins fall away. Once they are born again, the hungry and cold can eat and pray with us. I met the white men Freuchen and Mathiassen when they came to Iglulik, and we welcomed them as fellow Christians. They were reluctant to join us, for their Inuit companions were still observing the ways of the shaman, who work for Satanasi [Satan] and cannot heal us anymore. But, the white men's hunger and exhaustion convinced them to sing with us and enjoy a fine meal of boiled walrus.
