Background Information
The Jicareros:
Jicareros are a special group from within the wirrárika community, appointed by the people to provide offerings to the gods in far-away places and to prepare a variety of ritual feasts in the local temples. Jicareros, headed by marakate -chanters, healers, schamans - occupy their roles during 5 annual cycles terms.
Mythology:
The mythology wirrárika is passed on to new generations through the chant of the marakame (singular for marakate).
Understanding of History:
History, from the world's creation up until current times, is relived throughout the Jicareros' voyages and feasts. The past and the future, for the wirrárika, are susceptible to changes caused by actions occurring in the present.
