Program name: Kippinguijautiit (Things to Pass Time By): This show entertains the audience with funny and interesting stories on traditional and contemporary Inuit way of life. Kippingujautiit features northern musical talent and coverage of games and special events. Kippinguijautiit was the most popular Inuktitut language program from the audience survey conducted in 1992. Kippinguijautiit is a half-hour program for the 16 to 60 year old age group. Kippingujautiit was produced and packaged in Iqaluit with segments provided by our other production centres. 1985 – 2009 approx.

Segment 1: Marianne Tattuinee of Rankin Inlet describes her tea cup collection.

Segment 2: Jimmy Totalik of Taloyoak describes hunting polar bear by dog teams and the use of traditional hunting tools. Elihapee Nahaulituq of Taloyoak, recalls a polar bear encounter at their campsite. Tommy Ashevak describes a polar bear hunt. Annie Saittuq remembers a time she was involved with a polar bear hunt.

Segment 3: David Reuben instructs Baffin sculptors at the third experimental stone workshop at the Iqaluit Jewellery Centre. Philip Pitseolak discusses carving stones and the tools used for carving. Simata Pitsiulak talks about the difference in carving stones compared to soap stones.

Segment 4: Carmen Levi Kilukishak discusses her recent trip to Thailand.
