Join us live to congratulate our wonderful elder Susan Avingaq, for her last qarmaq show.

She will be celebrated with her friends and relatives, along with traditional games and performances around.

Susan has taught many others from arts and crafts, to ancient stories, to preparing skins, and shares her knowledge with such passion and love. We are so lucky to have seen many of her talents, wisdom, and all around positivity throughout the shows.

Let's celebrate her retirement, and thank her for all her contributions to strenghten our culture.

Avingaq has an artistic practice that inhabits the roles of actor in film and television, Director in film, and Costume Design for film and theatre. She has been an Inuit cultural consultant, Storyteller, a keeper of traditional Inuit songs, and a cultural teacher to children and youth in the community. She directed and produced the documentary Sol, and contributed to the following feature films: Maliglutit: Costume Design, Uvanga: Actor, Director, Producer, Journals of Knud Rasmussen: Costume Design, Atanarjuat: Costume Design.
