Qimaivvik was a cultural show produced in Baker Lake or Igloolik, but included segments from all of IBC’s centres. Topics included: storytelling, hunting and sewing techniques, legends, language, and other traditional practices such as igloo building, etc.
Producer: Igloolik - Inuit Broadcasting Corporation
Host: Casey Tulurialik
Segment 1: We love it when spring and summer come, as they are the best hunting seasons. These are the times we gather and cook traditional Inuit food in the Inuit way. Summer is also a good time to dry meat and to bury meat underground for future use.
Segment 2: Alex and Joshua are skinning an arctic rabbit.
Segment 3: Mary and Ellen are dancing like Inuvialukmiut. They talk about how they learned to dance and what made them interested in it.
