The White Stripes visited Nunavut in their new documentary
THE WHITE STRIPES have released the title for their upcoming Canadian tour documentary, and posted a trailer on their official website.
The film will be called Under The Great White Northern Lights. As previously reported, it documents their 2007 summer tour, performing in every province and territory of Canada. It includes shows at some very non-traditional locations, including small gigs on a bus, at a day camp, on the back of a boat, and even a stop to eat caribou with Inuit elders in the territory of Nunavut's capital of Iqaluit.
The trailer features black-and-white footage of a duo -- presumably JACK and MEG WHITE -- walking down a wooden pier on a beach toward the ocean as a piano plays. At one point, a caption reads "A brother and sister's journey across the great white north."
Jack's film company has also announced that Under The Great White Northern Lights will premiere September 18th at the Toronto Film Festival.
