About the project

Young women are future leaders but also leaders today; In recognition of
the great potential of young women to be change-makers in our communities,
this Canada-wide project will support young Aboriginal women (age 16 to 24)
to speak out, build leadership skills, and create action on issues that are
important and real to us. The project will empower young women to take
action to prevent violence and build youth resilience in our communities. A
national gathering, a zine of young women’s voices, mentorship with elders
and other role models, and community action projects lead by young
Aboriginal women are major components of the project.
