Welcome.
This section of my website serves as a working archive of my research, writings, filmmaking, teaching, and artistic practice over more than four decades. It brings together essays, conference papers, curriculum vitae, experimental films, production notes, and reflections that have shaped my development as a filmmaker, performer, educator, musician, and multidisciplinary artist.
My work has always been driven by one central question:
How do stories shape the way we see ourselves, one another, and the world around us?
The materials collected here explore that question from many perspectives—through cinema, Indigenous storytelling, performance, media theory, documentary practice, experimental film, digital media, philosophy, and cultural history.
Among the featured works are my essay Indian Cinema of Terror, my international conference paper Film, Video, Media: Transference and Convergence from..., presented and published internationally in 2004, my curriculum vitae, and a variety of production notes, writings, and creative experiments developed throughout my career.
These documents also reflect a remarkable period of technological change. I began working with 16mm film, experienced the transition to desktop video editing, and later embraced digital cinema and contemporary multimedia production. Witnessing—and participating in—that evolution has profoundly influenced both my artistic practice and my teaching.
Today my work continues to integrate dramatic filmmaking, documentary, experimental media, Indigenous knowledge systems, oral storytelling, music, performance, and visual art. These disciplines increasingly intersect within my current feature film projects, particularly AS A KODEN: TALKING STORY – WHO IS YOUR NAME? – kihcihkaw askî (Saulteaux: Sacred Earth) and MÉTIS WINTER MORNING, which bring together decades of research, lived experience, artistic practice, and community collaboration.

Mr. Morin finished studying Music, Drama, and Indigenous Studies. His feature film AS A KODEN: TALKING STORY – WHO IS YOUR NAME? was completed as a screenplay and entered development for production.
His original music catalogue spans from 1981 to 2020, documenting the evolution of his songwriting from his twenties into his sixties. His voice and musical style have evolved over the years, reflecting both personal growth and the challenges of overcoming childhood trauma and racism. Through digitization and contemporary audio technology, these recordings have been restored and made available to listeners through online platforms, including NumberOneMusic, ReverbNation, and SoundCloud.
Donald remains available for work in film, television, performance, directing, writing, teaching, music, and multidisciplinary production.
