I wanted to patch the HD camera sound into the Pro tools software, as well as the Mackie PA into the system, as well, but it kept freezing, so I recorded directing to camera the performance, with the Mackie live, no direct line to pro tools. That is why we hear the dolly wheels. (A home made dolly folks) Once I finished the performance, Eric and I transfer camera footage to the laptop. Using Adobe CS3 Premiere preferably to the AVID HD editing, I converted the HD to an AVI file, and imported all the camera footage into the project bins. The H8mm footage had to be converted to avi, so I did that and began to edit. Wanting to have Eric operate the Mackie and Pro tools while I added my tracks, I quickly export a wav file of the HD Camera audio. Well, it was not that quick lol. I closed Adobe, opened pro tools and began to import the wav to the time line. Well, taking forever, and short of time, Eric was heading back to BC, I decided to grab the audio directly from the hard drive into Pro tools, Once I did that, Eric operated the Mackie and Pro tool system while I performed bass, piano, and electric guitar to the original performance. Finally, after five takes' I had three good music tracks plus the audio from for cameras. SO now to tweak the tracks and export it as a CD file. This is where the CPU slowed down, the windows keep opening and closing, till I had to pull the plug on the machine like five times. Having problems with the original file, I decided to create a new file and import the raw audio. Finally, I was back in business. After tweaking the tracks, this is the current release of IDM Monsieur Cote. With the audio done, Re-opened Adobe Premiere and begin to create. The current YouTube fine cut of audio and work in progress was to get the song out, now here is a reasonable answer print of my latest work. As an answer print, I noticed bleeding through the HD cam footage, with the four camera setup not all colour corrected, and the blue screen colour was different for each camera as well each of its threshold and cut off. The YouTube edit was more for the audio to get the song out, so I let the bleeding slide since it is a music video. This answer print I wanted more usage of the angles, the screens, and different visuals in the background: The Song Monsieur Cote was written in 1993 during the filming of the now distributed Quebec Feature French 35mm film Windigo by Director Writer Robert Morin. I was hired to perform the lead role of Eddy LaRoche, a native actor from Vancouver at the time, so I learned French for the film, stayed out at La Pointe Du David on Lac Baskatong, and was boated here and there to various locations, and well, the story of the film will happen another time. As I learned the lines, as an actor, I always try various techniques and notions to help develop my character, learn the lines, its meanings and objectives, etc. In all actually, I as was well sang my lines with a guitar, so that is how the song started, Monsieur Cote actually contains some of the lines of my character, but more so the lines come from how our women were treated by society, government and how Mother Earth is affected too, which as well Eddy LaRoche mentions in his journey. Once filming was over, of course the song stayed with me, and has been a song I sang on all my tours, community gigs, commercial gigs, and my travels. As a performer and community activist, it was only logical for the song to develop into its current state. Thank you for watching or listening The raw file of Monsieur Cote was filmed at The old Coop Radio Station at 337 Carrell Street, Vancouver. Gunargie O Sullivan was radio producer and lead in the 7 fires film, this raw file was early video work towards the 7 fires film. now outtakes
