As a fluent speaker of Sallirmiutun, Albert worked with ICS as a host, interpreter, and translator over the years, and was still tireless in his work towards language revitalization, teaching, and translating at the time of his passing. He will be missed dearly by staff and producers of all ages, and "eras" of ICS, who worked with him in different capacities over the years since its founding. He was a strong advocate for Inuvialuktun and was relied on heavily for his historical memory and knowledge of the language. He spent the better part of his career also as Inuvialuit Lands Administrator for the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation.

In 1991, Igloolik Isuma Productions gathered 13 Igloolik elders for a week of discussion, to choose and then record 24 traditional ajaja songs considered most important to preserve for the future: where did the songs come from, how where they made and how have they been passed down generation to generation?

Each elder remembers their own family’s ajaja songs and explains how they were created by poets taking their words from their life experiences. The video includes priceless footage of these elders singing and drumming the songs. The process also allowed Isuma to publish a full CD of the selected songs and to use and preserve many of them in Isuma's films over the next twenty-five years.

Summer arrives in the arctic. Ukaliq is excited to use his snow machine one last time before the sea ice breaks apart. But Kalla informs Ukaliq that the ice has already broken up so he shouldn’t go snowmobiling. Kalla reminds Ukaliq of all the fun things there are to do during summertime.

        BOATING TO CAMP
While boating to camp, Ukaliq and Kalla spot an iceberg. They use Kalla’s niksik to bring it into the boat to help keep things cold. When Kalla tries to get water from a bigger iceberg, he realizes he can’t get the boat close enough safely. Ukaliq uses his longer arms to help get iceberg water, which makes the best tea.
